答案 Different Angles Different Views This picture demonstrates one of the basic theories of philosophy: a coin seen from the front appears to the viewer as a circle, but a coin seen from the side appears to be a line. The coin can be viewed from every side, and from every side the coin appears to be a different shape. This picture tells us that due to our personal differences in view, perspective, or starting off point, people can look at the same issue and draw different conclusions from it. In our daily life, we often face with a very similar situation. Different people have different opinions in regards to the same object or idea. Sometimes, these viewpoints can vary widely due to one’s personal tastes, educational background, childhood and life experience, and the profession one engages in. And it is hard for the same person to consent the earlier conclusions she/he made herself/himself. The picture’s value is that it reminds us that we ought to look at things from every possible angle and standpoint in order to fully comprehend its entirety.
