Why was the man displeased?

M: Anita, I need some help with the promotion of our baking contest next month. The last time we organized it, we only received 10 entries, which was disappointing.
W: Yeah, I remember. There just wasn’t enough time for us to focus on the contest because we were so busy with other projects. I suggest we try promoting it online this time. What do you think?
M: I agree. Maybe we should ask our customers to subscribe to our mailing list. Then, we can post messages on Web journals and social networking sites. A lot of people are using them now, so they have become effective means for promoting events. I’ll let the supervisor know about our plan when she arrives later after lunch.
