答案 When I visited Macao in 2008, I was deeply impressed by its landmark, Macao Tower. It’s located in the south of Macao Island, facing the sea, and it can be seen both from Macao Island and Taipa Island across the sea. It’s said to be as high as a 58-floor building. It looks like a pencil with a gyroscope at its top, or a slim lady wearing a wide-brimmed hat. That top, about 50-floor high, is its main body, supported by its tall, slender base. The top serves as a multi-functional entertainment hub, because there’re gift shops, fancy restaurants and a cinema where you can relax and have fun. In front of the Tower, there’s the Sai Van Lake Square where various events are held such as the annual Food Festival and the Chinese New Year Parade. Such a spacious, public place is very precious in such a small-sized city like Macao. Apart from the functions I mentioned above, what this tower impresses me also is its Bungy Jump. Exactly, you can play Bungy Jump at the Macao Tower under the guidance of a professional trainer. Taking a dive from a platform some 50 floors above the ground in the city is an incredibly exciting experience, even for extreme sports enthusiasts! Although it costs several thousand yuan for such a breathtaking jump, it still attracts many tourists and celebrities every year. Now the image of Macao Tower with spectacular fireworks surrounding it is often seen on postcards or tourist’s booklets as the icon of Macao.
