The US troops are going to draw back from Iraq within 4 months.

In a sharp setback for the White House, Senate Republicans failed to strike language from a massive emergency war spending bill which calls for the removal of US troops serving in Iraq to begin within 4 months.

The vote is a significant victory for Democrats pushing for withdrawal of troops from Iraq. The House of Representatives has already passed a similar emergency funding bill, which also sets a time table for bringing soldiers home. Republicans were trying to strike similar language out of the legislation as it passed through the senate.
