答案 We Should Have Elective Courses With the reform of China’s higher education, most colleges and universities have opened elective courses. This practice appeals to some students, but others think that it diverts them from their speciality study. My opinion is that the opening of elective courses caters for the need of knowledge-economy era’s development. We students of the 21 st century should have elective courses. Nowadays, the border line bttween different scientific fields is dimmer and dimmer, and every field’s development has certain connection with others. This means that we students should try our best to learn more knowledge beyond speciality to pave the way for a better study of our speciality. Otherwise it will be a fond dream to learn our speciality well. In the knowledge economy era, knowledge changes so fast that to study one speciality perfectly well is hardly possible. In the 21 st century, what the university can give us are just methods, methods to learn new things. This also requires we students today try to know more knowledge about different subjects. From the above, we can say, to some extent, without more knowledge about different subjects, we will not have our own speciality. We should have elective courses.
