答案 Every weekend sees a lot of people, even aged people, coming into colleges and schools for their classes. Students on campus often complain that it isn’t easy for them to find a classroom to study in on weekends because adult schools occupy many classrooms. There are a number of reasons for this phenomenon. Some people spare no efforts in attending TOEFL, GRE, GMAT coaching classes, hoping to pass the examinations as soon as possible and get a high score, just because they are eager to get an opportunity to go abroad. Some people choose to attend some classes like English because they must pass some required exams in order to be promoted to higher professional titles. Some other people may have to attend certain vocational classes because the formal school training they have received is far from what is needed in their work or because they have lost their previous job and they are anxious to find a new one. And still others may take such classes as those in painting, photo taking, dancing and so on because they like to or because they want to fulfill their dreams. There are two more reasons, which cannot be neglected. The first one is that many schools and universities offer various classes in order to meet people’s needs. The second is that the two-day weekends make it possible for adults pursuing further education to go back to school. Yes the most important reason may be that with the development of economy and advancement of society, more and more people have begun to realize the importance of acquiring more and newer knowledge in order to keep in pace with the world. Whatever the reason may be, people come back to school for the same purpose — to improve themselves in various aspects, and this will not only benefit themselves, but also help to enhance the general intellectual standard of our country.
