大学里有很多选修课可供选择。学生可以根据他们自己的需要来选择这些课程。你是怎样选择选修课的?

答案
With the reform of Chinese higher education and emphasis on the comprehensive development of students, universities are becoming more and more student-oriented. They offer undergraduates and even postgraduates a wide variety of optional courses in addition to their compulsory ones. Granted a high degree of freedom in choosing their favorite electives, students have made different decisions. Some select foreign languages to learn, others find it necessary to improve their computer skills, and still others are determined to be more job-oriented when choosing the courses. As far as I am concerned, I’m inclined to choose electives based on both the value of the courses and the interest of my own. In my eyes, university is not a place for survival skills but a palace of knowledge and critical reasoning. I prefer to choose courses which can enrich my knowledge, such as Cross Culture Communication, An Introduction to the World Literature and Different Schools of Western Arts. I believe these courses can not only widen my horizons, but also well cultivate my temperament and get myself improved.
