He was suspected of killing three people at an Atlanta courthouse on March, 11 and later of killing a federal agent.【C2】________.
Nichols tied Smith up with tape, but released her after she repeatedly begged him not to take her life. "I told him if he hurt me, my little girl wouldn’t have a mummy, " she said. "【C4】________She said Nichols was surprised when she made him breakfast and then the two of them watched television coverage of the police hunt for him. "I cannot believe that’s me, " Nichols told the woman. Then, Nichols asked Smith what she thought he should do. She said, "I think you should turn yourself in. If you don’t, more people are going to get hurt. "

选项
答案
C
解析
文章最后一句讲到了“Authorities said they did not yet know if Smith would be eligible for that money. ”即“官方不确定是否史密斯有资格领取这笔钱”,说明Smith做了对警方有利的工作。因此C选项“史密斯报了警”符合文章上下文逻辑,故C为正确答案。
