Since you have to live with a roommate for quite a long period, you will do your best to make friends with him. The experience of sharing a room with a roommate at university will be of great help to get along with others in a more complicated and competitive society. Therefore, I think sharing a room with a roommate is a good opportunity for a person to grow despite some disadvantages.
