   - When booking a campsite, check whether or not your pitch is likely to be near the entertainment bit. Off-key karaoke is not to everyone’s taste, on the other hand you might actually want to be near it.
   - Before you pack games equipment like football, Frisbees or tennis rackets, check that your campsite doesn’t already supply them as part of the package.
   - It’s probably worth checking out where the first aid help is when you arrive. The campsite should provide first aid supplies, and have details of the nearest doctor and hospital.
   - Write down the menu for all meals for your trip. This way you’ll know what you need to take, or what you can wait to buy.
   - Meals that can be cooked at home ahead of time will save a lot of time for the first couple of nights of your trip. Precooked meat will last longer in the cooler than raw meat.
