Under the agreement between Turkey and Armenia,

Turkey and Armenia are to sign a historic agreement to improve relations and end a century of hostile relations. The Armenian and Turkish foreign ministers are expected to sign the agreement Saturday in Zurich, Switzerland. Under the agreement, diplomatic ties will be reestablished and the border between the two countries will reopen. After the signing, the agreement must be approved by both the Armenian and Turkish parliaments. But political observers say strong opposition in both countries will probably slow the process. The two countries have been arguing over the large number of killings of Armenians by Ottoman Turks during and after World War I. Armenians want the killings recognized as genocide, which Turkey has strongly rejected.
