    Yes:
Because of the constant change of the world, we feel a need to grasp something unchangeable. It can always be found in the study of history.
It is said that there is nothing new in the world, so we can draw on the experience of our ancestors. History helps children understand the changing world better and develop their sensibility, judgment and adaptability. Thus, it enables students to avoid many mistakes and prepare for a successful and rewarding future.
History is also about different cultures and traditions. It reminds us of our root and enhances our sense of identity. Children can, through learning history, have a better understanding of their traditional culture.
    No:
History is about everything that happened in the past, therefore it has nothing to do with our present life, which has changed into a completely different one.
Studying history is a waste of time and it should be removed from the school curriculum since it has nothing to do with the improvement of students’ ability.
People often say, " Those who don’t understand history will repeat the mistakes of the past. " I totally disagree. I don’t see any evidence that people have made smart decisions based on their knowledge of the past. To me, the present is important, not the past.

答案 The Importance of Learning History Many subjects like computing and engineering can engage students’ interest, with classrooms completely packed every time these subjects are taught; while other subjects like history are losing popularity simply because the study of them is considered to be a futile effort. As a matter of fact, children can benefit greatly from learning history. They can draw lessons from the past experience, develop a better understanding of the world and our traditional culture. As for me, I’m firmly in support of the necessity of learning history. First and foremost, learning history can help children make right decisions. It is said that history always repeats itself and it really does so. Therefore, it’s important to look back into the past so that kids can learn from the past mistakes and thus ensure that they won’t make the same ones as their ancestors. Besides, students can learn new modes of thinking from studying history. If they encounter problems in reality, they’ll probably find hints or solutions from history. Last but not least, since history is part of a country’s culture, students can better appreciate the culture of the country through learning its history. In sum, studying history is neither easy nor impractical. It can bring important knowledge to children so as to let them achieve the goal of learning from the historical experience.
