As far as I am concerned, those three passions make our life productive, smooth and worthwhile. First of all, love is the most beautiful feeling in the world. It is as important as the air we breathe, because it is the fount of inspiration. As long as we are eager for love, we always strive to do better and fill our mind with positive thoughts, which can lead to a productive life. Secondly, the quest for knowledge has been the driving force of human growth. Individually, it is by virtue of knowledge that we grow from an ignorant child to a knowledgeable person. And being well-informed and knowledgeable always helps to be respectfully in society and can offer valuable advice and suggestions. That makes the journey of our life smooth. Finally, compassion for the suffering of mankind is one of the most important qualities that we should possess as human beings. We may never experience something that another person is experiencing. However, we are able to understand their suffering by imagining ourselves in their circumstances or predicament. If we show sympathy for them and do something to alleviate their pain, we can make the world a better place, which in turn makes our life worth living. Although Bertrand Russell put forward the three passions several decades ago, they still shed light on how we should live as human beings even today. In a nutshell, the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and the pity for the suffering of mankind are three passions that are indispensable to anyone determined to lead a productive, smooth and worthwhile life.
