Those who advocate the idea of discouraging tourism believe that you are less likely to develop tourism industry well if you don’t pollute the environment, since the competition is fierce today. For one thing, people in China have weak sense of environmental protection. For another, the negative aspects of foreign culture coming from the travelers can corrupt our mind. Therefore, the mental and physical contamination can never be overlooked. Nevertheless, those who insist on encouraging tourism hold that people can make fortune and import advanced technology by exploring tourism recourses. Only by the new policy can the region keep pace with the time. Most important of all, people always need to renew their knowledge. On balance, I think we should take into consideration both the harms and benefits of tourism. That is because the significance of development cannot be overvalued as well as that of preservation.
