Years of practice makes a secretary more skillful in office work. Young people may have the energy and attractive appearances they regard as advantages for secretary jobs: however, they are not mature enough to deal with the complicated relationships around the general manager. Nevertheless, a youthful and graceful looking face is always considered a plus for the secretary job. In addition, the secretary should have a good personality which is important in smoothing the communication with the general manager and other staff members. If you choose topic B: What is important when cancelling a business meeting? When cancelling a business meeting, you should first apologise for the cancellation because it has affected the participants’ schedules and caused inconvenience in rearranging their business timetables. A meeting should not be cancelled unless there are no alternatives. Following the apology, you should tell the participants the persuasive reasons for cancelling the meeting and expect to get understanding from them. Normally, participants will show their understanding and tolerance if they are told the truth. A well-equipped office will save staff’s time for more meaningful and creative work. Besides, a friendly work environment also contributes greatly to the staff performance.
