Many people now worry about the bad effect that television has on our life, on society, and especially on the young people.
Firstly, sociologists think that television increases the gap between people. As most of people’s free time is spent in front of the TV sets, there is less time for friends’ gathering, visits and parties. It is well known that many of our problems, in fact, from the generation gap to the high divorce rate to some forms of mental illness are caused at least in part by failure to communicate.
Secondly, television is considered to be extremely harmful to the young people. Some experts suggest some TV programs should be forbidden to young people. The young people want to imitate whatever they see on TV. They lack the enough experience to realize that TV shows present an unreal world. According to some statistics, by the time the young people leave high school, most of them have watched abut 18 000 killings or other acts of violence. How could they be shocked to see the same in real life?
The other effect on young people, according to these experts, is that television has made the young less patient. They are used to quick and entertaining programs.
Sociologists suggest that some TV programs should be forbidden to young people because______.
选项
A、the young believe and want to imitate whatever they see on TV
B、they make young people impatient
C、both A and B
D、they create gap between people
答案
C
解析
由题干some TV programs should be forbidden to young people定位于文章第三段,由此延伸到第四段,会发现引起这种情况的是选项A、B所描述的事件,因此要将选项A和选项B结合起来,故选C。
