College Students’ Participation in Voluntary Services
选项
答案
College Students’ Participation in Voluntary Services Statistics show that there has been a great increase in the number of college students participating in voluntary services in the past several years. A recent survey reveals that more than three million students took part in voluntary work in 2008, compared with just one million in 2002. Several factors have contributed to this phenomenon. For one thing, there have been more public events in recent years calling for volunteers. For instance, the 2008 Beying Olympic Games have called for thousands of volunteers from home and abroad, and many of them are college students. For another, more and more college students find it worthwhile to participate in voluntary services. They not only develop their work skills and make new friends in voluntary services, but also take much pleasure in helping others. College students, I think, should do as much voluntary work as possible as long as they can balance well their school work with voluntary work. It pays in the long run.
