I called this meeting to talk about our performance. As you all know, times are tough. The economy isn’t doing so well, and many people are losing their jobs. We don’t want to be one of those companies that are forced to lay off their workers. But in order for us to keep this from happening, our production and sales have to improve. I assure you that we are not planning to lay anyone off this year. However, we need to cut spending and increase sales. To do so, you need to take the initiative and not only work hard but work smart. If production is down, figure out how we can improve and work more efficiently. Managers, if there are too many people on the schedule, send people home. And those who have things to do, volunteer to go home on slow days. We must all work together as a team to keep this company going.
