As mentioned by Thomas Kitching, lecturer in Astrophysics at University College London, "For a long time scientists, including Albert Einstein, thought the universe was static and infinite. "

This means it must have originated from a more compact state that we call the Big Bang, implying that time does have a beginning. " In short, so much energy was generated in the big bang, that the planet still keeps on expanding.
    However, will the universe keep on expanding? Going back to our balloon example, if the balloon keeps expanding with energy/air, eventually, it will get too big and rip. Researchers believe that the same could happen to the universe in the distant future. However, it does not stop there. Multiple theories are describing how the universe will end. Some of the leading researchers believe that the universe could either shrink, decrease, or even decay.
