From the chart, we can see that both males and females spent two-thirds or more of their total expense on food, clothing and housing. Of these three items, food was the biggest expense for males, 30% of the total. expense; clothing and housing cost them the equal amount of money, 20%. In contrast, food only occupied 25% of females’ total expense; their biggest expense was clothing, absorbing 36% of their money. Like males, females spent 20% of their money in housing.
