答案 The Federal Government? The Federal government of the United States is organized under the Constitution into three branches: the President, Congress and the Supreme Court. The President is the executive. He is responsible for carrying out the laws. Secretaries of State are appointed by the President, forming the Cabinet. The Congress has legislative power. It is composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives. Each state appoints two senators, who serve for six years. One third of the Senators are elected every two years. Members of the House of Representatives are elected by the electorate of each state according to population and serve for two years. The Supreme Court has nine judges who execute the judicial power. The court deals with complaints against the Constitution. The three areas of government act as "cheeks and balances" on each other so that none of the three can have absolute power. They control each other.
