问题    "Yan! Yan!" Somebody was calling out my name. I blinked open my eyes, fumbled(摸索)around the table for the digital clock: 2 a.m. ! Not a sound was heard in the stillness of night. Gosh, must have been dreaming! I turned around and was about to slump back on bed when I heard my name called "Yan!" I was wide-awake then--it was my 73-year-old landlady! What could be wrong? Hear pounding(砰砰地打), I jumped out of bed and rushed across the hallway to her bedroom. "Coming, Helen! What’s the matter?"
"My head is swimming. The whole room is swimming. I think we’ 11 have to call 911! "Propped against the pillows, Helen’s face looked ghostly pale under the lamplight. This otherwise energetic woman had never appeared so weak. She has three sons, but the nearest lives about 10 miles south of Ottawa. I had to act quickly.
Picking up the receiver, I punched 9-1-1. The phone was answered on the second ringing.
A reassuring female voice said, "Hello, how may I help you?
"I’ve got a lady here who’s having a dizzy spell. Could you send someone over?"
"Any feeling of nausea (恶心) or difficulty to breathe?" I checked with Helen and said no. "How old is the lady?"
   "In her seventies."
"I will send the ambulance over right away. But please don’t try to move her until the paramedics(护理人员) arrive, OK?"
I gave her the address, thanked her and hung up.

选项 A、The author made a terrible nightmare.

解析 细节题。文中的部分语句揭示了正确答案“Propped against the pillows,Helen’s face looked ghostly pale under the lamplight. This otherwise energetic woman had never appeared so weak.”;“I’ve got a lady here who’s having a dizzy spell.”从这些地方我们不难得知作者的房东太太生病了。
