问题     "You probably don’t remember me," she began, "I have come to apply for my Graduation with Distinction(优秀)." She then pulled out a piece of paper from her wallet and gave it to me. It was my handwriting, but I didn’ t remember writing it.
As the Assistant Director of the Honors Programs at the university, it was my job to check students’ transcripts(成绩单)to make sure they met the requirements for continuing in the honors program. It was common for freshmen to have a difficult start and many would leave the program after their first semester(学期). The note she handed me read, "I think you had an excellent second semester. You may have been disappointed by your grades, but you should feel wonderful that you have improved. That is an impressive achievement! Keep up the good work. Remember that with your 3.5 average, you qualify for Graduation with Distinction."
I didn’t remember writing the note, which was written at the bottom of her second semester transcript.
She went on, "You can’ t know what this has meant to me. I have carried it for three years and I pulled it out whenever I didn’t want to continue with my work. For three years I have been planning on walking into your office and giving you this note and this transcript." She handed me her latest transcript.
I really had no idea my actions could have such a big effect on someone else. Writing the note seemed like nothing to me, but it had meant so much to her.
I have enjoyed this for many years and I am grateful for such an act of kindness. The kindness is not mine in writing the note, but hers in wanting me to know that what I have done really matters.
What do we know from the passage?

选项 A、The girl didn’t do well in the second semester.
B、The girl performed well in every semester and graduated with distinction in the end.
C、It was the author’s job to give each student a grade at the end of the semester.
D、What the author wrote to the girl on the paper was really an act of kindness.

答案A

解析 推断题。根据第二段提到的便条的内容“I think you had an excellent second semester.Youmay have been disappointed by your grades, but you should feel wonderful that you have improved…”可知,小女孩第二学期的成绩并不是太好,只是作者在说话鼓励她,不要为自己的分数而失望,应该为自己取得的进步而高兴。所以A项正确。
