答案 It is essential that everyone is aware of procedures to follow. The safety policy should be displayed on a notice board, together with the names of those on the safety committee. A list of First Aiders should also be displayed in ease the nurse is not available. If a complaint should arise: Draw the attention of the supervisor or management to the hazard or potential hazard. This then should be rectified within a reasonable time. When there has been no action taken by the supervisor or management, and depending on the urgency or the possibly severity of the situation, advise the safety representative of the action to date. After advising management that the union safety representative wishes to visit the location of the hazard, management could be invited to attend. Should management accompany the safety representative on the visit the necessary action should be agreed. Should management be unable to attend the visit it and it is found that immediate action is necessary, the safety representative could advise the complainant of steps to take.
