Of those who had a job the largest percentage worked in the industrial sector, followed by those in the Services sector and in agriculture. Only 3% of the population were employed by the government. As the pie chart indicates, by 1992 major changes had taken place in the occupation percentage of people of working age were unemployed. The relative size of different occupational sectors had also changed significantly. The industrial sector only accounted for 15% of workers while the largest employment sector was made up by workers in the service industry. Agriculture had also declined whereas the government sector had increased enormously, employing almost 15% of all workers.
