Why did Mourinho leave Chelsea club?

A Chelsea football club official says the team’s manager Jose Mourinho was sacked due to the discord that existed between him and the players. Mourinho’s abrupt departure months after winning the league title and signing a new four-year contract follows a string of poor results. In a statement, Chelsea said Mourinho was leaving by mutual consent after agreeing that recent results haven’t been good enough.

The authorities in Los Angeles have defended their decision to close all public schools for the day because of a suspected security threat. A similar threat was received in New York where the authorities said it was not credible. The city’s police chief called the Los Angeles’ closure a significant overreaction. Peter Bowes reports: " Officials say they decided to close down the entire public school system out of what they called an abundance of caution after they’ve received a threat in an email. The authority said they would search every school in the district to make sure they were safe for pupils to return."
