The factors that form parents’ philosophies are much different from those that shape the children’s, and thus a generation gap appears. Another reason is that parents do not have much time to be together with their children, for parents are busy with their work while children focus on their study. Thus, the generation gap broadens for lack of communication. To narrow this generation gap, parents should strive to know the thoughts and needs of their children and spend more time with them, while children should also care for and communicate with their parents.
