YES
Nursing house provides the elderly with comparatively first-rate facilities and services. When old people, especially those who are suffering from disease, live in nursing house, nurses can look after them carefully and advanced facilities can also provide good treatment.
In nursing house the old people can make friends with people who have similar taste and hobby.
Old people living in nursing house can maintain harmonious family atmosphere. It is quite obvious that there is a generation gap between the old and their children. They often have different opinions on many things. These differences might result in disagreement or even discord.
NO
While living in nursing house, the elderly may be homesick. They may miss their children, particularly when they have lived in nursing house for a long time.
Many nursing houses cannot offer a comfortable environment to the elderly because they do not have adequate advanced facilities. So we can’t ensure that the elderly will have a high level of living condition in nursing house.
Since nurses in nursing house are aiming to earn money, we should not expect that they will treat the elderly in the same way as we do at home.

答案
Should the Elderly Live in Nursing House? Under the dual pressure of economy and work, many young couples choose to send their parents to nursing house for its comfortable environment as well as professional care. But such behavior leads to a backlash from those who believe that the elderly should live with their children because they may feel lonely and nurses won’t take good care of them. As to me, I’m a proponent of the view that living with their children is more beneficial for old people. First and foremost, what the elderly want most is not the professional and attentive care from strangers but the communication with their own children, which can meet their emotional needs. Moreover, there is little privacy for the elderly in nursing house since the staff there need to watch over their physical health. In addition, the supervision mechanism of nursing house is not perfect in most cases. As a result, there is no guarantee that the service provided by nursing house can be meticulous. To sum up, parents have the duty to rear their children who are still minors while children who have grown up should support their parents who are in retirement. Young people shouldn’t use the too-busy excuse to avoid their obligation of caring for parents.
