On the other hand, we need not handle the problem of using dialects with "a big stick policy". It’s reasonable for local TV channels to promote dialect programs to raise the local people’s cultural recognition and preserve the local cultural heritage. Take entertainment programs for example, they are not as serious as political, economic or military news reports. For this kind of programs, using dialects will surely add color to the programs, and hence enhance the effect of such programs. In that case, it’s necessary to encourage the use of dialects in some local TV programs.
