   Shopping ranks high among the great attractions that draw people to Hong Kong time after time, for the very good reason that Hong Kong offers some of the best shopping in the world in terms of value, variety, facilities and service.
   This guide is designed to help you to enjoy your shopping to the full and to safeguard your best interests. We hope that it will tell you everything you want to know about everything you’re looking for.
   Remember the two golden rules to follow when shopping in Hong Kong:
   1. Shop around and compare prices in different stores before you make any buying decision, particularly if it is an expensive purchase.
   2. Always deal with reputable establishments. This means Ordinary Members of the Hong Kong Tourist Association, identifiable by the symbol displayed on the premises.
   The suggestions that follow may help you to make additional savings and, at the very least, should enable you to get the best possible value for your money.
                                         Computers
   The keen competition in Hong Kong has helped to keep prices of both imported and local made computers at very competitive levels and they all represent particularly good value. Same as for shopping for cameras and photographic equipment, you should check with the relevant sole agents, the recommended retail prices, accessories included and the type of guarantees expected. Moreover, make sure that the computer you intend to purchase is compatible with your domestic mains voltage. If you will be using a TV with your home computer, also check that it is compatible with your TV system.
                                         Electrical and Electronic Products
    When shopping for such products, you should adopt much the same procedures as you would when shopping for cameras and other photographic equipment. Additionally, you should make sure that any piece of electrical and electronic equipment that you intend to purchase is compatible with your domestic main voltage etc.  (Hong Kong electricity is 200-voh, 50-cy-cle).                                          Furs
   Hong Kong is amongst the world’s leading exporters of fur garments. Manufacturers of fur garments from Hong Kong compete in the world market for the finest quality furs, and Hong Kong’s fur tailors are known for their fine workmanship. Therefore, when you buy furs from Hong Kong, you will be buying straight from the suppliers and the prices are in general much lower than in other parts of the world. Shoes and Handbags
     You’ll find shoes and handbags from just about every world-famous manufacturer for sale in Hong Kong. Better still, perhaps, you’ll also find shops where you can have shoes and handbags custom made for you--either replicas of something that’s already in your wardrobe, or to any design that you choose. What’s more if you purchase a pair of custom made shoes, you can always ask for your measurements to be kept it record, so that you can place further orders, by post, in the future.
