   Computer scientists have worked out how to employ the unused cores in "multicore" (多核) microprocessors (微处理器) to make the update process invisible to the user. They then synchronize (使同步；使同时发生) the execution of the two programs in such a way—an idea that limits damage from fresh bugs introduced by the update.

   The Imperial team has now successfully tested their idea, they told the International Conference on Software Engineering in San Francisco last month.
