In 1998, there are only two thousand tourists going overseas to take a trip. In 2004, the figure climbs to more than eight thousand, and peaks at 15 thousand in 2008. There are a number of reasons for this phenomenon, of which the most important one is perhaps China’s booming economy. Thanks to the deepening of the reform and opening-up policy, the citizens of the Central Kingdom enjoy a great improvement in their living standards. They have an enormous consuming power to pursue an increasingly higher level of living quality. Perhaps having already traveled to most of the scenic spots at home, an increasing number of them now choose foreign countries as their tourist destinations. When it comes to what impacts it will bring, in my eyes, it will give a huge boost to the tourist industry both at home and abroad. Besides, it will give us the chance to open our eyes and give the world a chance to know more about China, which will surely make the world multiculturalized.
