选项
A、unproven
B、unknown
C、improper
D、imperative
答案
A
解析
本题考查上下文语义。由下一分句even while there are a few treatments that do work(尽管有些治疗方法是有效的)可知,空格所在分句与后边分句含义上应构成让步关系。B项unknown“未知的”,C项improper“不适当的,不合适的”和D项imperative“必须的,紧急的”均不符合句子逻辑,只有A项unproven“未经证实的”符合文意,而且与第二段第二句scientists know surprisingly little about what causes chronic insomnia, itshealth consequences and how best to treat it(科学家们对失眠原因、影响及治疗方法知之甚少)相呼应。
