问题    I am more of a host than a guest. I like people to stay with
me but do not much care about staying with them, and usually   【1】______
say I am too busy. The only people I ask to stay with me are
people I like, and every Friday I work in pleasant mood just   【2】______
because I know some nice people are coming down by the last
train. I am glad to see them. Besides I think that I am still more【3】______
delighted when they go, and the house is mine again. It is not I【4】______
feel that I have been- mistaken about these guests, though this
has happened of course sometimes. After the weekend I may like
them more than ever, have discovered new virtues and           【5】______
unsuspected charms. Nevertheless, I am glad to see them go.
They leave more rooms in which to live properly.  Meals are    【6】______
quicker and easier. There is no more hanging on, no more sight 【7】______
seeing, no further necessity for bright talk. My mind, like my
body, puts on its old shoes again. I enjoy hard work and foolish
play, and these are difficult where you are cluttered up with  【8】______
guests. I like to think about life in this world, and it is not easy
to do when animated and talkative pieces of it are all over the【9】______
place. With guests about I am conscious myself as a solid, but as【10】______
soon as they have gone I turn into a gas again. And a gas can
have more delight than a solid. So—good-by!... Good-by!...
Good—
