答案 The table indicates how many days the average employee has off-work over the course or a year in four developed countries. We can see that Japan is unique amongst the four countries in that the number of days off-due to public holidays (13) exceeds the number of days annual leave (11). The total of 24 days is the second lowest even though the number of public holidays is the highest. The USA has the lowest total number of days off per average employee. The number of public holidays is 10 and the number of days annual leave is 12, giving a total of 22, which is the lowest of the four countries. The UK gives employees fewer public holidays (8) than the other three countries. Italy offers 9. The number of days annual leave is more than double the number far the USA and Japan with the UK giving 27 and Italy giving the most at 31. This results in total days off-being 35 and 4o far the UK and Italy respectively. To summarise, in the two West European countries, the number of days annual leave is substantially higher than the number of public holidays and the totals far those countries are higher than the totals far Japan and the USA. Italy gives the average employee more days off-than the other thee countries and the USA gives the least.
