问题    Ellen left home early yesterday because at nine o’ clock she was going to start work at a company in the city. She was only eighteen and this was her first job. But the traffic on the roads was so heavy that she arrived a few minutes late.
She caught the lift(电梯) up to the eighth floor and went along the corridor(走廊) to the office where she was to work. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Then she heard someone shouting in the room next door. She opened the door and looked in. There was the manager, speaking angrily to the people in the room. Then he turned round and left the room.
Later in the day Ellen found out what had happened. The manager usually came to the office at about nine thirty, because he lived out in the country and came up by train every day. That morning, however, he happened to catch an earlier train, and when he arrived, not a single person was working. They were all standing around, smoking, talking and telling funny stories.
The manager found the people in the office working very hard.

选项 A、Right
B、Wrong
C、Doesn’t say

答案B

解析 句意:经理发现办公室里的人都在认真工作。是非题。从文章第三段第三句“…when he arrived,not a single person was working”可以推断出,没有人在工作。故选B。
