It is reported that the whole world is now in short of fresh water, and quite a few countries and areas are lacking enough water to drink. Without any doubt, we are now facing a very serious problem—water shortage. It is evident that water is essential to our life, and it is being destroyed every day, so we should take various measures to cope with this situation. For example, we can create much more fresh water. For anoth-er example, we should improve the technique of industrial and agricultural production and decrease the pollution of water. Besides, a large scale program should be carried out to educate people to use water economically. Above all every citizen has the responsibility to protect the fresh water on earth.
