W: What seems to be the problem?

W: (7)Did you read the instructions that came with the computer?
M: (7)Well, yes. But the FAQ section was no help.
W: What happened exactly?
M: Well, (4)1 think the modem is broken. I’d like a replacement.
W: How did you try to connect to the Internet?
M: What do you mean? I just tried. What kind of question is that?!
W: I understand you’re upset, sir. I’m just trying to understand the problem. (5)I’m afraid it’s not our policy to replace computers because of minor problems.
M: I bought this computer with the software pre-loaded. I haven’t touched anything.
W: We’re sorry that you’ve had a problem with this computer. (6) (7) Could you bring in your computer? I promise you we’ll check the settings and get it back to you immediately.
M: OK, that will work for me.
W: Is there anything else I need to know about this that I haven’t thought to ask?
M: No, I’d just like to be able to use my computer to connect to the Internet.
