答案Saying No to Private Cars Nowadays, an increasing number of people possess private ears in China. On one hand, private cars facilitate their transportation and show their social status; on the other hand, the production and sale of cars is an important indicator of a country’s economic growth. However, cars are doing more and more damage and harm to the environment and people, far surpassing that the economic growth can compensate. Therefore, in my opinion, people should not be encouraged to buy cars. Firstly, the fumes discharged by cars are now eroding the quality of air we breathe for living. Walking alone the road can never mean a leisure walk anymore, but a chronic suicide. Research has already shown that the wasted gas produced by running cars not only contains the matter causing acid rain and aggravating the green house effect, but also constitutes an invisible killer of people’s health. Old people who breathed in too much wasted gas is highly likely to get a chronic respiratory disease, and little children who inhale the poisonous pollutantmay have some problems in their growth. In other words, while cars are making life easy temporarily, they are also making our life more difficult in the long term. Secondly, cars are getting our road, our city and our world ever more crowded. With more and more private cars running on the street, the traffic is becoming a headache both for drivers and policemen. Especially during rush hours, the people who want to go somewhere faster will always end up with waiting desperately in a traffic jam for ages, which is a waste of time and waste of energy. And when traffic jam is a commonplace in one city, the development of that city will also be jammed. Moreover, due to the limited space we are living in now, finding enough parking place turns out to be a luxurious problem. It might be the most irritating thing in the world for the driver to find nowhere to stop the car after a long traffic jam. In summary, we can afford more cars in terms of money, but we can’t afford them in terms of our environment and living condition. People should be encouraged to utilize the public transportation more. and join hands together to protect the environment only by stopping buying more cars.
