How long has the violence lasted?

A police spokesman said explosive devices were made safe by experts in Armagh District, where a woman was shot in the leg and 13 police officers were injured during a second successive night of violence. Northern Ireland’s police chief had earlier called on community leaders to work together to end the violence. The violence has erupted sporadically throughout a summer of sectarian tension in northern Belfast.
