   Ａ. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
   Ｂ. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
   Ｃ. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
   Ｄ. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
   Ｅ. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.
What is the length of a side of a certain cube?
   (1) The volume of the cube is 27.
   (2) The surface area of the cube is 54.

解析 Statement (1) tells us that the length of a side of the cube is 3, since the volume is just the length of one side cubed. So we can cross off B, C, and E.
   Statement (2) is a little trickier, since surface area is generally a less familiar concept. If the surface area of the whole cube is 54, then the area of each one of the 6 faces is 9. That means each side is 3, so statement (2) is also sufficient, and our answer is D.
