答案 With the rapid development of science and technology, more and more inventions can easily meet human demands. Security cameras are a good case in point and nowadays they are widely installed in most public places. Some people are complaining that cameras have actually invaded privacy because of constant surveillance. However I strongly hold that they are beneficial to protect public security, which outweighs personal privacy. Security camera’s importance lies in its deterrent effect and supervisory role. On the one hand, people will try to behave themselves properly and not to transgress into illegal acts under the supervision of cameras. On the other hand, a security camera is an honest "witness" , which usually becomes the key to cracking a criminal case when there is no witness on the spot. However, as for the personal privacy, the supervision department is also liable to protect the videos from getting into the wrong hands. In brief, public security is of much importance for the overall interest and the benefits of security cameras overweigh the shortcomings.
