College Students Should Live in the Dormitory Nowadays, more and more college students are moving out of their dormitory and rent nearby houses to live alone. Why they do so? Their answer is: "We need our own room." They hold that they can neither study nor sleep well in the dormitory, for its environment is not satisfying. Those students hate too much restraint and they need the room to do whatever they like. To live in the dormitory or to rent a room and live alone, which is better? I prefer living in the dormitory. When one lives in the dormitory, he will have more chances for communication. There are several roommates, and he can exchange his opinions with others. When one comes across difficulties in his courses, he can discuss. When enjoying a novel, a movie or a piece of music, he can also share happiness as well as sorrow. Moreover, the discussion, even the debate can give one inspiration. With the roommates, one will certainly feel the brotherhood or the sisterhood, which will be cherished in one’s memory. To live alone, however, will sometimes makes the person feel lonely, and one will fail to experience lots of fun. Moreover, to live in the dormitory will help the students to enhance their sense of collectivism. Most of the college students are the only child in the family. Some of them are self-centered and do not know how to care about others. To live in such an environment will teach them how to get along well with others. They will be more tolerant and patient. To those who rent rooms outside, what a pity for them to miss such an important lesson! Thirdly, it will be safer and more convenient to live in the dormitory. The board management system in colleges is complete and standard. When you live on the campus, the classrooms, the library, the gymnasium, the dinning hall and etc. are within easy reach. When you live alone and your neighbors are strangers, it is not safe, especially for girls. If you rent a room outside the college, it will bring you into inconvenience. When you live with your roommates, you can never avoid conflicts. How can you solve those annoying problems? Just to move out of the dormitory to escape? It’s improper and the problems can never be solved when you are an escapist. You have to apologize to you roommates sincerely or accept his or her apology tolerantly. To live in the dormitory will teach you how to solve those problems and it is beneficial for you to adapt to the society later. The life in the dormitory is important to college students. It is good for college students to experience it and take advantage of it.
