Alternatively, a number is divisible by 3 if and only if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3. If K ≠ 9, the sum of the digits of N= 4,321 + K is 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 + K= 10 + K= 1 + K, which is divisible by 3 when K=2,5, or 8;
