问题 There has been a new trend in economic activity—the sharing economy. The biggest sector of the sharing economy is travel. You can find a potential host through a website. If you both get along and they are available during your planned trip, you stand a chance of getting to stay for free. In addition, people also use websites and apps to rent out their cars, houses, tools, clothes and services to one another. Time magazine has included this trend in a list titled "10 ideas that will change the world". It said, "In an era when families are scattered and we may not know the people down the street, sharing things—even with strangers we’ve just met online—allows us to make meaningful connections." What do you think of Time’s comment?

答案 My Views on the Sharing Economy An exotic and bizzare notion "sharing economy" might seem to us, this unique, chic movement greatly benefits from the nourishment of skyrocketing coverage of the Internet and online social communities such as Facebook or Wechat, and now it’s merely an understatement to say it’s quite prevailing. I find myself appeal to such a fashionable breakthrough, mainly for two reasons: firstly, "sharing economy" optimizes the usage of various resources in our society; secondly, it lubricates different people, mostly strangers, to get to know one another. There is no denying that "sharing economy" helps to achieve the zenith of how to use resources efficiently. Just take a look at what happens in the heated U.S. TV series, "Two Broke Girls." In one episode, two handsome, wealthy young guys were planning a vacation but worried that there would be no one around to feed and walk their dog. Eventually, our two shabby heroines, Max and Caroline agreed cheerfully to assume the mission as "pet nanny" in exchange for spending several days at young men’s deluxe apartments equipped with portable saunas and all. In this way, both parties solved their problems and everyone is a winner. This is true that we also have institutions like hotels, pet houses, and second-handed stores that serve as alternatives to sharing economy. But I think I’m not the only one who yells for the hospitality and convenience of a house instead of hotel windows that aren’t supposed to be opened "for the concern of a guest’s safety." Also when people are sharing, exchanging, or renting out idle tools, there must be a lot of interactions and socializing. Who would say that you will not accidentally pick up a lifetime friend or even your other half when you are auctioning your time-decor, Victorian beach house, or your scarcely-used yellow Buick car, or even a collection of Stephen King’s thrillers. The potential renter, or purchaser must share some interest with you and after this transaction or lease is finished, you two may find each other so interesting and want to learn more about one another. In a nutshell, sharing economy not only means that everyone can gain access to what they need with a reasonable reciprocation, it also leads to a new friend, a new relationship, or even life-changing encounters. I full heartedly pray for its longevity and prosperity.
