Many people believe that they will be happy once they achieve some specific goal they set for themselves. However, more often than not, once you reach your goal you will still feel dissatisfied. So, many people think that it is these dissatisfactions that have driven us to go further. What’s your opinion? Write an essay of about 400 words to state your view.
You should supply an appropriate title for your essay.

Dissatisfaction Leads to Progress A famous Chinese proverb says, " A contented mind is a perpetual feast. " Satisfaction has always been emphasized as a crucial factor of happiness in our traditional culture. However, we seldom find ourselves totally satisfied once we have achieved our previous goal, and the feeling of dissatisfaction may drive us to make further improvements constantly. Many argue that it is dissatisfaction that leads to progress. As for my viewpoint, the desire for satisfaction can be an incentive that prompts us to go ahead. First, dissatisfaction is the driving force for individuals to undertake self-perfection. A student who has failed in the exam is prone to work harder on the course. An employee who is fired due to ill performance will try his or her best to avoid such faults in the future. A man who is warned by his doctor of a poor state of health will pay more attention to his lifestyle and do more body-building exercise. Dissatisfaction is accompanied not only with pain and sorrow, but also with corrections and developments. Only in this way can a person realize his or her own disadvantages and play the strengths. Anyway, a man who is satisfied with everything has no reason to struggle for something else, and is unwilling to make any change. Second, since we all want to achieve our goals, our dissatisfaction will push us to work towards them. Looking back on our scientific and social history, dissatisfaction has great influence upon each stage of history. For instance, our dim sight in darkness has forced us to find different ways to achieve artificial illumination. Our limited life span and suffering from illness have promoted the development of medical science by leaps and bounds. The unfairness and injustice in society have caused the dramatic changes for better social institutions. Dissatisfaction has brought us to civilization, and we’re still making progress because we’re still not so satisfied with our status in quo. All in all, dissatisfaction impels people to go further. The world is built up by those who’d like to live a better life and not to be inferior to their competitors. Sometimes, dissatisfaction is not because that you have acquired less, but because that you’re pursuing more. It is the pursuit of happiness and satisfaction that generates endless dissatisfaction, which will lead to progress that makes us be closer and closer to our goals.
