答案Examiner: Thank you. Now here is a list about advantages and disadvantages of efamily education. What do you think ? I’d like each of you to choose three from the list and tell each other why. If you hold different opinions , you may argue. You may also add your own ideas that are not listed here. All right. Would you begin now? Key points: Family Education: 1.Parental authority in a family helps a child to develop a healthy character. 2.It is ridiculous that instead of showing due respect to their parents, children in China today are often so spoilt that they control the family. 3.Parents should exercise a certain amount of discipline over their children, otherwise the children often become more rebellious. 4.Lavish care and excessive permissiveness will only give rise to hedonism among the younger generation. 5.Allowing children to do whatever they want, children will not be the same as caring for them. 6.Some parents nowadays may not take enough care of their children but instead neglect their development in order to pursue their careers. 7.Violence often takes places in families in which children are abused. 8.A relaxed family atmosphere help both the physical and psychological development of a child. 9.Strict discipline might hinder the development of a child’s personal qualities, and too much pressure might lead to rebellion and other extreme actions. 10.If parents are punished for the bad behaviour of their child, they might refrain from spoiling him/her. 11.Parents are the legal guardians of their children, they are therefore duty-bound to give them proper guidance. 12.Parents are responsible for the upbringing of their children. 13.Parents should be urged to supervise their children properly and watch over their education. 14.Parents should be reminded of the seriousness of the issue by holding people accountable for the bad behaviour of their children. 15.Children’s mischief and misconduct attributed to parental laxity and negligence. 16.Children are children and parents are parents. They are different individuals, therefore children should answer for their own actions. 17.Parents are greatly affected when their children misbehave. It certainly adds to the mental strain on the parents. 18.Bad behaviour in a child often leads to the estrangement between the parents and the child, which worsens the parent-child relationship and adds to the problem. 19.Children who misbehave ruin any possibility of a harmonious family life and even undermine the social stability. 20.If parents do not rebuke their children when they misbehave, but instead shield them from criticism and punishment, they will never learn to how to behave or develop a correct sense of responsibility. 21.It is unfair to place the blame for a child’s bad behaviour solely with their parents. There are many other factors to take into account; should their teachers, and perhaps even society, not also be held responsible?
