答案
Why People in the Mountainous Region Live Longer? From the table, we can see that in some mountainous regions nearly 50 out of 100 000 people live to celebrate their 100th birthday, and many don’ t stop at 100. While in large cities only 3 people in 100 000 reach 100. It’s obvious that the people in the mountainous regions live longer than those living in cities. What accounts for this phenomenon? In my point of view, there are three main reasons as follows.Firstly, hard physical work is a way of life for those long-lived people. Their habitual laboring helps them develop strong hearts and powerful lungs, which are advantageous to their good health. Secondly, the environment plays some role. The air over the mountains is very fresh and pollution-free. In such environment the people can live healthily. But in cities, the environment is polluted, which is harmful to people’s health. Finally, being free from urban pressure also contributes to the health and life of those living in the mountains. Urban pressures such as crime, car accidents, housing problems and unemployment are very harmful to the people living in the cities. It is clear that physical labor, clean environment and being free from urban pressures make the people in the mountainous regions live a longer life.
