问题 The following excerpt is taken from one English newspaper. The primary purpose of this passage is intended to provide a source of inspiration for writing rather than tempt you to copy the same thing in your composition.
Beijing Municipal Commission of Education issued a reform proposal on October 21 targeting the marking of the national college entrance examinations. Concerns have arisen over its possible impact.
According to the Beijing education commission, one highlight of the new initiative is to downgrade the contribution of the English test from 150 to 100 while upgrading the role of the Chinese test to 180 from the original 150. Noticeably, corresponding changes also appear in senior high school entrance exams.
Although it is still collecting public feedback, the commission’s proposals have sparked disputes over its possible impact on students.

答案 My Personal Views on Beijing’s Examination Reform Recently, a reform proposal by Beijing Municipal Commission has drawn wide attention. In the proposal, it is schemed that the contribution of the English test will be reduced from 150 to 100 while the role of Chinese test being upgraded from 150 to 180. Uncertain though it is whether the proposal can be implemented or not, fierce disputes have been provoked in the whole society. As far as I am concerned, the reform contains advantages as well as disadvantages. On the one hand, the reform will bring benefit to both the society and students. Firstly, the upgrade of Chinese test will be of much benefit for the improvement of students’ accomplishment on traditional Chinese culture. In the age of cultural integration, the youth are indulged in various foreign cultures, such as foreign music, foreign TV shows, fashion styles, foods, and behaviors. One will be regarded to be out-dated if he or she knows nothing about the latest South Korean TV soaps or the new album of an American singer. Thus, our excellent traditional culture is, to some extent, ignored. With the increase of Chinese test in proportion, the young ages are, though forced, exposed to more Chinese culture, such as ancient literature, arts and technologies, which will contribute greatly to the inheritance of our own culture. Secondly, if well promoted, the reform can be helpful to students’ all-round development. According to the proposal, it takes the performance in social activities into consideration. Therefore, in order to get a good score in the College Entrance Examination, students have to do more voluntary work, which can help them develop a strong sense of responsibility. Besides, this kind of reform is in line with our policy of all-round education and beneficial to the construction of harmonious society. In my point of view, the reform proposal is able to achieve win-win situation in both individual and social development. However, on the other hand, the reform takes risks as well. The present College Entrance Examination System has been carried out for many years, so it is difficult for both the students and teachers to adapt to the new policy. A long time might be taken for teachers to pave new ways of teaching. During this transforming period, this reform can be a fortune or disaster for students, but no third case. In a word, change and innovation are vital to social improvement. The same is to the development of education. As for me, I’m in total approval for the reform, but whether it can work well relies on the test of practice.
