问题 Last spring, sixteen-year-old Donald Gomes had a problem. Like a lot of children, Donald was fond (喜欢的) of sports. But he didn’t want to play basketball or football, He wanted to play volleyball (排球).
But Donald’s high school didn’t have a boys’volleyball team (队，组).So what did he do?. He tried to join the girls’team. And he made it.
With that Donald thought (认为, 考虑) his problem was over. But a bigger problem was just beginning (开始,起源). The school didn’t agree that Donald should play on the girls’team."If we let Donald on the team," the school said," other boys will want to join. Pretty (相当) soon, there won’t be any girls on the team. And that would not be fair (定期集市,公平的) to the girls." They took Donald off the team.
So, Donald took his case to a judge (判断).Donald was not allowed to play only because he was a boy. This reason, the judge said, is sex discrimination (性别歧视). He then told the school to let Donald back on his team.
